Events Q&A Session

August 2023

An online Q&A session on the Events functions in OSCAR was held on 24 August 2023.

The session provided council the opportunity to ask questions about the Events process and included a demonstration of the Events functions in OSCAR.

A recording of the session and the list of Q&As can be accessed below.

The event name, event address and trading dates will be editable by council before accepting the SOT.

Not at this stage, Event Coordinator access is still tabled as possible future scope. Updates on future versions of FoodTrader OSCAR will be provided as soon as available.

This is not within scope. However, in the FoodTrader portal an SOT applicant is warned that other types of permit may be required before they can commence trading (see below).

We will look into inclusion as a filter on the SOT list.

Yes. Great idea. We would suggest that all councils enter their Bunnings Sausage Sizzles as a published event for selection by community/charity groups. When entering the Event, the name should be Bunnings (Suburb) Sausage Sizzle, to make it easy for applicants to find what they’re looking for.

Yes. Create them as a clearly named event (potentially including the suburb in the event name) and give them a date range. You can enter any length of date range but to help with event record management you may want to create the event per year, e.g., ‘Example Park, (Suburb) Sunday Market 2023’.

If they were associated with current registrations and premises, the SOT’s should be valid and have been included as part of the migration. You should find them on your SOT list. They will not be affected by the changes to the way Events are recorded in OSCAR.

SOT applications in FoodTrader OSCAR are restricted to up to 90 days past the registration expiry date.
