There are three key stages of maintaining your registered status:
1. Register your organisation and trading premises with council using FoodTrader (if council decides you are exempt from the need to register, they will issue you a notification instead to confirm that your organisation has been assessed). This council will be your registering council.
2. Once a registration or notification has been issued you should inform council of any new, additional premises you purchase or begin operating from (such as the purchase of a new food truck or expansion to running an additional market stall). Multiple premises are covered by a single registration or notification.
3. Each time you want to trade at a new location, or on dates you have not previously been authorised for, you must sign in to FoodTrader and request a new Statement of Trade. Depending where in Victoria you want to trade, the local council will assess your request before issuing a Statement of Trade certificate. This is your trading authorisation. Each time you sell and serve food you must have a valid Statement of Trade covering the location you’re trading at and the date you’re trading on.
